In order to reimage a NUC, you must download the PreRunOnce Image to the NUC, make your changes and re-upload the image back to the Fog Server.
In this example, we will be re-imaging an Avnet NUC → Host XA1807.
Go to the Host Management Page for XA1807 and change the Host Image to NUC - Embedded-PreRunOnce.
Download the Image to the NUC via the Basic Task section.
Network Boot the NUC and the image should start downloading.
Once the Image has installed and booted, apply your changes. E.g. copy over the necessary files.
Go-to ‘regedit.exe’ - Registry Editor.
Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER / SOFTWARE / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / Run.
Change the ADXBA RunOnce value to C:\ADXBA\ADXBA_NUC_Runonce.
Create a New Image via the FOG Portal.
Use Upload the Image section (above) → Change the Host Image to the newly created image for Host X1807. E.g. Avnet Test Image 26082016.
Reboot the NUC via Network Boot and it should start uploading the current image on the NUC to the FOG Server → Avnet Test Image 26082016.
NOTE: If the NUC Fails to Network Boot and boots into windows instead, you must restart the imaging process from Step 1. This is due to the PreRunOnce script which is not allowed to be executed before the image is uploaded to the FOG Server.
New Image has now been placed in Avnet Test Image 26082016. You can now download the image onto the NUC for testing purposes.
Once the Image has been fully tested, rename the image and update the document regarding Latest NUC Images.
