Installing Software
NUCs should come pre imaged with the following installed:
Broadsign
Unity
Logmein
If this is not the case, be sure to install these can be installed using the installers in the Installers folder on Google Drive. (Technical Team > PC Configuration Files > Installers)
General Configuration
Auto Login
Press WIN + R and type “netplwiz”. Press ENTER.
Uncheck the “Users must enter a username and password to use this computer” checkbox.
Click ‘Apply’.
Enter the username you wish to automatically login to Windows with. This is likely to be ‘ADXBA’.
Enter the account password. This is likely to be the usual ADXBA password without ‘!’.
Click ‘OK’.
Scheduled Reboot
Download “shutdown.bat”. (Google Drive > Technical Team > PC Configuration Files > Scripts).
Copy this script to C:/ADXBA.
Press the Start button and search for “Task Scheduler”.
Click Create Basic Task.
Give the task an appropriate name. e.g. “Daily Reboot”, and click Next.
Select Daily and click Next.
Select “Start a program” and click “Next”.
Click Browse and find the “shutdown.bat” script in C:/ADXBA. Once done, click Next.
Check the details and once you’re happy, click Finish.
Disabling User Account Control
Open Control Panel and search for “UAC” and click Change User Account Control settings.
Drag the slider down to Never Notify and click OK.
If prompted for an administrator password, type the password.
Registering Broadsign
To register a new player on Broadsign, you will need the MAC address of the player. This can be retrieved by opening Broadsign Player and clicking Help and then About.
Make a note of the primary MAC address and open Broadsign Administrator.
Go to Registrations.
Right click and select Add Registration.
Select Player as the registration type and click Next.
Click Select and find the display unit you would like to assign the player to. If the display unit doesn’t exist yet, you can skip this step and assign the display unit at a later date.
Give the player an appropriate name and click Next.
Enter the MAC address you noted down from step 1 and click Next.
Unity Setup
After setting up the Broadsign player, go to the display unit that the player was assigned to and double click it.
Change the external ID to the name of the unit. This is where Unity will pick its name up when it next starts.
It is recommended that you restart Unity now so it picks its new name up straight away.
You should now see the unit in the Uncategorised section on the Unity Dashboard.
